Make an easy Mothers Day Card….

I am fairly new at cardmaking but I thought I would show you my easy Mothers Day card. I started by choosing the papers I would use and a decoupage flower sheet.

There is a piece of gold mirrorboard and some purple card both of which are from the Create and Craft range from Wilkinsons stores. The two smaller sheets of paper are from a free paperstack from a papercraft magazine and is called Vintage Rose. The decoupage sheet was from a pile I bought from a car boot sale from a lady giving up cardmaking. The card is from an Anitas pack.

First I fold the card and use a folder to get a good edge, although the edge of a pair of scissors do the same job.

I then measured the mirrorboard to cover the base card and use doublesided tape to stick it down.

Then, leaving a bit of the mirrorboard showing, I cut the stripy paper to fit inside and used a tape pen to stick it down,

I did exactly the same with the purple card and then the rose paper, just layering each but leaving a small border around the edge and using a tape pen to stick it down.

With the decoupage I cut out the main image and then with craft knife cut out 3 smaller parts from the main picture.

I stuck the main image onto the base card, to one side, and added the smaller images with small sticky pads to give the 3D effect. Then, on the other side of the card I stuck some purple ribbon that had also come free on a papercraft magazine and used another sticky pad to add a sentiment card and that was it.

I really love the Vintage Rose papers and am really pleased with this. I hope you like it 🙂
