How to make a pinboard

Today we had Charlotte visit and she asked if I could make her a pinboard. She brought with her a length of material which I could make the pinboard with. I cut a piece of 3mm MDF 28″ x 20″ and spray glued a double layer of wadding to the MDF. Layed out the material on the carpet placed the MDF on top and cut arround it leaving a 3″ seam allowance for gluing.  The material was then glued to the back of the MDF and left to dry. Once dry, I turned the pinboard face up to put the brads and ribbon in place. First I braddled each corner to get the brads through the MDF. Red ribbon was braded diagonally from one corner to corner and gold ribbon the other corner to corner. The red ribbon was then braded from centre to centre 4 times to form a diamond. Where the ribbon crossed a brad was added. A pink brad around the edge, and orange brads in the corners, blue brads for where the ribbon crossed and a light green brad for the centre.

She loved it and went home grinning like a Cheshire cat.
